Still Coming Home From Every Shift With Throbbing Feet?

Most nurses accept it as part of their job. I spent 6 weeks testing whether it actually has to be that way. The results were not what I expected.

Foot pain and leg fatigue during long nursing shifts is one of the most common reasons nurses consider leaving the profession entirely. I tested 5 of the most popular insoles specifically on nurses working 10 to 14 hour shifts on hospital floors. Most failed before hour eight.

The #1 Brand took me by surprise. But after seeing what it does for nurses who have tried everything else, I completely understand why it is quietly becoming the most talked about insole in hospital break rooms across the country.

Our rankings

5. Dr. Scholl's Work Insoles

Dr. Scholl’s has been a pharmacy staple for decades. However, the foam construction compresses significantly within the first four to five hours of a demanding shift. By hour eight on a busy ward the cushioning has flattened into something barely better than nothing. Several nurses in our test group reported their feet felt worse by the end of shifts than before they started using them.

4. Superfeet Green Insoles

Superfeet are popular in athletic circles and their arch support is legitimate. For nurses however the rigid construction becomes uncomfortable during the sustained standing that nursing involves. Multiple testers reported significant arch discomfort after extended wear on hard hospital tile. At nearly $60 per pair they are difficult to justify when results are inconsistent.

3. Powerstep Pinnacle

Powerstep performs adequately for the first six to seven hours of a shift but the foam base loses meaningful responsiveness after sustained hard floor use. The lack of any acupressure or circulation-stimulating technology means they address comfort passively rather than actively. A solid choice but not the best choice available in 2026.

2. Spenco Total Support

Spenco makes a genuinely good insole. The heel cup geometry is accurate and the arch support holds up reasonably well. The reason it does not take the top spot is that it does nothing beyond passive cushioning. It supports the foot but does not actively address circulation, pressure point fatigue, or the chain reaction of discomfort that travels from tired feet up through the legs and into the lower back across a long shift.

Who took the #1 spot?

See why podiatrists are calling this the #1 insole for nurses in 2026. The brand that outperformed every pharmacy option above, costs less than all of them, AND is the only one built specifically for people on their feet all day.

These insoles are currently 70% off but the discount is time-sensitive and stock sells out regularly…

Real People. Real Results.

I'm a nurse and I've been dealing with foot pain for 3 years. Tried these after my charge nurse wouldn't stop talking about them. After two weeks I genuinely cannot believe the difference. I did a 14 hour shift last Saturday and drove home without thinking about my feet once. That has NEVER happened.

Kate B. Which ones did you get? Are these the magnetic ones?

Michelle R. Yes! Akusoli. The ones in this article. The magnetic pressure points felt weird for the first day then I stopped noticing them. Just notice that my feet don't hurt anymore lol

Started seeing a difference in about 4 days. My heels don't scream at me when I get out of bed anymore. I've been a nurse for 11 years and accepted foot pain as part of the job. This changed that.

James W. My husband uses them in his work boots. Same result. I think they work for anyone on hard floors honestly

I was about to quit my job in the ICU because of plantar fasciitis. Couldn't get through a shift without my heel feeling like it was on fire by hour 8. Three weeks with these and I just finished a night shift and walked to my car without limping. I'm in shock.

Linda M. Do you need to do anything special to break them in or just put them in and go?

Patricia N. Just put them in and go. They trim to fit. Takes about 2 minutes. The magnetic points feel a bit unusual the first shift but after that you forget they're there

I bought these for my wife who's a nurse and she asked me to order her two more pairs so she has them in all her work shoes. Take that as you will 😂

Will these fit in nursing clogs? I wear Dansko and I'm not sure if there's room

Emily R. I wear Danskos! Just remove the existing insole that comes with them and put these in instead. Perfect fit

I'm a male nurse and was skeptical about the whole magnetic acupressure thing. Sounds a bit gimmicky right? But my back was getting destroyed from long shifts and my colleague kept going on about these. Gave in and tried them. The back pain is genuinely better. I think it's the weight distribution thing. Whatever it is it works.

Bill S. Same experience here. I thought it was going to be like those copper bracelets that do nothing. It's not. Something about these is different

I told every nurse on my floor about these. Now we're all walking around with the same insoles 😂 Our unit manager asked what was going on because apparently we're all in significantly better moods by the end of shift
